Leaf Play...Part 2 (Happy BDay Abbey)

Several weeks ago on a GORGEOUS fall day, we headed to Grandma Nita's house to celebrate Abbey's birthday. When we arrived, Bryce was out back jumping off a swing into a huge leaf pile.



Maddox has always been rather timid about trying new things...so I was quite surprised when he started jumping off the swing without hesitation. He had a great time!



I LOVE the look on Maddox's face. :-)





Louis even took a turn or two...











Unable to jump from a swing yet, Evey got her thrills triking around the yard.





I enjoy Abbey running through the background...



Olivia took some time to (very seriously) rake the leaf pile up a little bigger.

After all that serious raking, I was quite surprised when Olivia cut loose jumping in the pile!





Even Milo was enjoying the fun...



Then Evey started running and jumping in the leaf pile. :-)

And if anyone else has a gun, Maddox MUST have one as well. Sigh.



The neighbor dog was barking his head off until I came over and took his picture. Another satisfied customer. ;-)



Olivia was having a little trouble swinging...until Michael gave her a PUSH.

But then sweet Milo turned into something out of Cujo/Jaws when some leaves were thrown his way!!! haha



It was a fantastic day. Hope Abbey enjoyed the fun as well...HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBEY!

Leaf Play...Part 1

On one of those warm autumn days...before the rain and the cold...Maddox and Evey enjoyed playing across the street with the neighbor kids in their giant leaf pile. Good times! A few pics of the frenzied leafy fun....

Jennifer + Jake...Wedding Photography

As far as I am concerned, the weather this weekend was as perfect as weather can get. Autumn is my favorite season, and it is most enjoyable with the amazing temperatures we have had lately. What a perfect day to get married! Lucky for Jennifer and Jake...it just so happened to be their wedding day! :-)

Then she stood up and grabbed ahold of her mother's perfect hair. There was a huge gasp around the room. So funny! Luckily the hair was safe. ;-)

Cara + Tyler...Engagement Portraits

I met Cara and Tyler for their engagement session a couple of days ago. It was such a beautiful (and surprisingly warm) day...I really enjoyed hanging out and getting to know this awesome couple. They are so cute and fun together! Plus they are completely trusting of my vision and willing to try anything for a great image. In other words, the perfect clients. ;-)

The Vampire and the Witch

Maddox has been sick for the past week, so it was a relief that he was well enough to trick or treat. I wouldn't know how to break that news to a kid! Sorry, no Halloween this year. How awful. Anyways, we normally carve pumpkins a couple of days prior to Halloween...but it got bumped back due to his illness. But yesterday morning he just couldn't wait for it to warm up to carve pumpkins outside, so we ended up in the garage carving pumpkins around 9am.









The boy is incapable of taking a normal picture at this point...
(glad to see the goofy old Maddox back though, obviously feeling better)

When is it time to trick-or-treat? Can we get our costumes on now? How about now? Is it time yet? That's what we heard all...day...long. Finally...darkness! And my little adorable witch and spooky vampire were ready to trick-or-treat...
(Notice Maddox's red-eyes...seemed appropriate. haha)



The make-up was pretty intense...but Maddox insisted we layer that white paint on. He is in need of a hair trim, but I had been waiting because we wanted to slick his hair back. Then he decided at the last minute he did not want it slicked back.





We ran into a few of their neighbor friends...Ross, Jenna, and Sarah.



Evey and I headed back home early to hand out some candy. Or eat the candy in Evey's case.







Maddox returned after only 14 houses (his plan had been 13, Jay talked him into one more...not sure why he chose to do 13 houses...he's always been a numbers guy) to sort and sample his bounty.













Maddox liked standing at the door, watching for trick-or-treaters. He liked greeting them and presenting the bowl of candy. He even told one giant group of teenagers to "get in line!"



Maddox removed the white makeup but wanted to leave the eyebrows. He has always wanted darker eyebrows. He was even in tears one night awhile back because he insisted his eyebrows weren't dark enough. So when he saw the white paint gone and those dark eyebrows, he smiled and said he wanted to leave them. ;-)
