Andrea...Anytime

I shot Andrea's senior pictures awhile back, and we decided it was time for some updated portraits. She is now a sophomore at Iowa State, so we spent some time roaming around taking pics the day before she headed back to school for 2nd semester. Once again, lucking out with unseasonably warm weather the day of the shoot...thank you Mother Nature! I always have a great time with Andrea, she is a real goofball which I love. We definitely have a similar sense of humor. :-P

So here are some of my favorites from our portrait session...

Ice Ice Baby

One of my new years resolutions is to try to find more time to shoot just for fun. Shooting for me, shooting for the joy of it. :-)

So...on New Years Day we stopped at the Northland Fountain. The amazing thing about the Northland Fountain is that it runs year round! So cool! So cool in fact...it's frozen. :-P My apologies for the bad pun. ;-) Anyways, the fountain runs all winter long and creates amazing sculptures of ice. Photographing ice was an interesting challenge for me...it's not easy photographing an all white subject! But I was really happy with the results, so I thought I would share some of my favorites...

Renee & Tarwhat...Anytime

Renee contacted me to get some portraits taken of her and her new hubby while they were in Kansas City for New Years. Since Renee & Tarwhat are from Michigan, we figured they could handle an outdoor shoot in January. Then lucky us...yesterday turned out to be unseasonably warm! It was so nice! Not only was the weather fantastic, Renee and Tarwhat were fabulous models. They were both very comfortable in front of the camera and required very little input from me. Maybe this is because Renee is also a photographer and Tarwhat is probably used to having a lens on him. Or maybe they are just naturals, who knows. :-)

So let's get to my favorites from our session...

I have to post this one for the sheer effort that was involved. I thought it would be a cute pic...turns out this is the entrance of a very popular parking garage. We dodged quite a few cars to get this. :-P
