Some of the family gathered at my sister's house last night to watch the game. I didn't see much of any of it since I was either busy with Evey, taking pictures, or checking in on Maddox. When we first arrived, Chris got Evey out of her carrier which for some unknown reason made Evey rather upset with Chris. She would cry when Chris tried to hold her for most of the evening. Not sure what happened there. Here is Evey (with PaPa) keeping a wary eye on Aunt Chris.
Maddox and Connor played a fascinating game...something about protecting a crystal from a bunch of evil dummies. Very creative.
We did manage to get them to sit down and eat a little something. In this picture...you can spy the elusive Elise at far right. Poor girl was sick and spent the evening in seclusion so as not to infect everyone else. Word has it she was secretly happy with the arrangement as she got to watch unlimited television in her parents bedroom for the evening. Woo hoo!
I was quite amused by their dog Gracie when we were eating. She was doing continuous laps around the table. Not even really stopping to beg. Just constantly circling like a vulture watching for fallen scraps. Too funny. At least she got some good exercise.
Later on in the evening, Evey and Chris bonded over a fun game of peekaboo.
She even allowed Aunt Chris to hold her while Grandma Donna sang her favorite song - "You Are My Sunshine."
Unfortunately by then she was a little too tired to enjoy it. PaPa managed to put her to sleep to the tune of "Oompa Loompa"...who knew it was a bedtime lullaby. ;-)
Thanks to the Blegens for having us all over. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
