About 4 years ago - back when we were preparing Maddox's nursery - Jay built a platform at the top of the room for a train using his grandfather's old train stuff. It is wired to a switch on the wall - and there is a speed control just inside the closet. In addition to the train track that circles the room - we have displayed a few of Jay's grandfather's old trains on the shelves. His new big boy room is pretty much done - but the walls are a little bare and I had been trying to come up with some photography ideas for a kid room.
Today we took the wee ones to Union Station - where they are currently displaying many different model trains. I took some pics and think I might frame a few for Maddox's room. Perhaps these few...

Maddox enjoyed checking out the train town - and Evey enjoyed checking out the amazing ceiling and lights at Union Station.

I enjoyed the holiday decorations. Very pretty.

Unfortunately we didn't get to Union Station as early as I would have liked - and Maddox was pretty tired.

But never too tired to run with Daddy.

At some point a few years ago - we purchased a new train for Maddox's room - we got him a Kansas City Southern. Not only did they have their own Kansas City Southern model train display...

They had the real thing!

Very cool.
